This goes out to Art Bell and all his associates. My call is ****** and
I've been interested in Amateur Radio for 20yrs or more. This site is the
ultimate breakthrough in educating the public,as well as their enjoyment.
I'm hopeing that through this site and Art's weekend programing, that the
hobby will gain tremendous strenth. I want to thank Art for giving
everyone this opportunity. It's obvious I'm passionate about this
hobby, and have high hopes that it will never die. Great Job Guys,Mike

To Ben: Been copying you and Art on the net receiver. You sir- are a wealth of
infomation! Envy does not come close.I have been toying with the
EZNEC software. You guys really have me hooked.Hats off to all of you!
I"LL try to be brief but must share you this. In my 20s I ran SSB (no
license oooops). But lost my beams in a storm and gave up. Recently an old
friend gave me a Yaesu2m rad. and a small wonders lab CW QRP kit. Well now
my work is cut out for me. I test for my 1st licence at the end of month.
The art and skill of CW will be quite a task.I know I will never achieve
what you guys have. I'm starting at rockbottom. So Gentlemen hold your
heads high - your hard work shows, even in your lighthearted ragchews. You
would not believe the hits you and art would get from a webpage devoted to
just your thoughts and theory! But we know you guys are busy. But back on
track, You have inspired another novice and maybe thats what ham is all
about. Thank You and God bless.
John ~ Indiana

Hi, I
have listened to the 3.840 group for years. They have consistently been
polite and friendly. I think they are a fine representation of our hobby.
I consider Art and his group a kind of sacred fire for ham radio.
~Damien

Hope all is ok on your end. Our 3840 normal
crowd is kinda scattered with the season change, but we’re still in there
fairly frequent. I Have really been enjoying smeter.net since you told us
about it, and I responded to Art’s query. I use my old call letters as a
sign in on most things out of habit (kg8ff)
Ok, take care Trish and maybe we’ll hear you sometime. The guys would
love to have you drop in. Take Care !!!!Lou (3840 East Ham)

very high quality. I think there might not be
as much bass as there was back when you were using the Pro-II but its very
*smooth* in the midband and towards the highs. Joseph Belmont, CA

Sounds good on my Hi-Fi amp hooked to the PC :) Plenty of bass and treble Scott

Hi Art,
Listening to you on my bedroom clock radio and the audio sounds as good
as KGO. Computer soundcard is feeding a C Craine FM transmitter tuned
to 107.3mhz. Dave

Art,
BIG improvement here in Phoenix,AZ. Always good signal, but the EQ makes
it MUY LISTENABLE!! MUCH better! Thanks for the constant attention to
details You are a class radio guy. Ron

It sounds great Art, I have been listening for years.
Next saturday Im going to take my Tech+CW. Long time
listener to both Coast to Coast and the HAM bands. -- Thanks, Jesse

Art, Your receiver sounds much better and easier to listen to for a period of
time. Before the lighting crashes were quite sharp and piercing with my hi-fi
headphones but tonight there seems to be very little annoying high frequency
pulses. I can still hear lighting but it s much easier on my ears. Also most
signals have very close audio levels.
Your signal strength is about S9 on my Kenwood R-2000 bed side receiver
with a
wire laying on the floor behind the headboard. Noise is about
S3 with a few
TV set birdies killing 80 meters until the neighborhood goes to bed.

Art: Your receiver sounds great. The audio seems better tonight with the
equalizer, but my judgment may be biased by knowing what you have done.
As you know, it is difficult to judge relatively-small audio quality
differences without A/B comparisons.
I have posted photos and other information about the hardware equalizer I
connected to my Kenwood today on these two pages:
http://www.smeter.net
http://www.smeter.net/slc/info/equalization.php
The equalized Kenwood audio quality still doesn't match your Icom, but it
is better than it was without the equalizer. Maybe someday I will modify
the Kenwood to widen the passband.
-Bob

This one has nothing to do with the receiver, just some great links from Michigan, Mike
AA8KB These are great!
